Fantasy World Cup: Want to Play?

Miscellaneous

I’m throwing this out there to the FBJ audience:

The World Cup begins in two weeks. Would you be interested in playing in a FBJ Fantasy World Cup Soccer league? If so, what do you think it should look like?

I would love to create a league that incorporates the excitement of bracketetology ala March Madness with the gamesmanship of fantasy baseball. Maybe pick both team winners and individual players and defenses?

What categories to count? Should it be just the basics (goals, assists, saves) or a little more advanced (time of possession) or very sophisticated (successful passes, successful tackles, on target shots, etc.)? Ideas are welcome.

We’re also amazed by the Adidas Match Tracker, which seemingly is on to something unique, with a visualization of passes, blocks, and goals — and an interactive timeline at the bottom. Pretty cool.
